The Shrine

The Salon’s comprehensive repository of publications and objects acts as a pod that seeks to foster the research and scholarship of creativity, as in the arts, in connection to fields such as theology, spirituality, sexuality, and healing. The Shrine is an evolving altar and library, a shape-shifting installation, and an expanding lichen that is in itself an artwork as well as an oracle. The Shrine envisions eventually engaging a small number of creatives per year in responding to it with performances, writings, and discussions inspired directly by its rare holdings.
